With one foot in the legacy of Boy Sets Fire (Nathan Gray plays in this band) and the other in Black Metal you get a brutal hybrid that proves that metalcore is alive and kicking. The stylistically perfect melodic traits and power of this band is a win. This powerhouse burns with energy.

Monolithic metal which takes sludge metal to higher levels, with a sound evoking a sense of deep sea water pressure to match the lyrical themes of drowning, destruction and despair. MGR(us)
MGR - Mustard Gas and Roses - is an ambient solo project of Mike Gallagher of Isis. As in Isis, MGR seems to celebrate epic, guitar-based ambient drones and sound sculptures. Listening to MGR is therapeutic, because it makes the listener introspect, to be carried away. But most of all, it is about art, art for art's sake.
